After two nice weeks back home in Jordan, my vacation was about to end, distant heat was coming up and i was so up for it, after being sure my friends are going i took one more week off, guess what? the friends r not going! ok then one more week in Jordan while all the friends are outta town (excluding my very dear tourist guide) what to do? go Abu Dhabi, have a crazy weekend then get back to work. Ok then, i had three crazy days not knowing what to do and thinking of lots of options and in between airlines and flight schedules finally decided to go to doha, and from there to Abu Dhabi. cool.

So my friends arranged crazy plans (my favourite) and i did the same on my end. Arived to Doha, went  home, unpacked, and packed again (different stuff), then i was off to the airport, now tell me… sho na2esni?

“sorry miss, u have no visa”

i dont need a visa. I went to Dubai a couple of times, no visa.

“yes, to dubai, but u need a visa to Abu Dhabi”

huh??? but i did go from Dubai to Abu Dhabi… it’s one country.

“yes i know, you can do that again now, change your ticket to Dubai and get a ride from there to Abu Dhabi”

Thats ridiculous!! It’s the same country!!

I remember how i was puzzled when they advised me to get my Schengen visa from another country after the germans took very long before i got it… and those were different countries!! but in this case… what the…..!!?!

tayyeb.. sho il 7al?  mafi 7al…

no distant heat, no crazy weekend with my crazy friends… not even hanging around in Amman… back to work, back to work, everybody work work work work…

All in all, i had some good and unusual times in amman that i will always remember with a smile :-D and i have a feeling it wouldnt take a whole year before i go back for a visit this time :-D

THE BEST NEW YEAR’S EVER / PART 2: VIETNAM

18 01 2007

first of all i have 2 say i respect vietnamese people, they are very kind and friendly, and not only have they faught hard for their country, but they are hard working, which i have to mention in comparison to what i read by Nimer this morning, i did not see not even one vietnamese begger, i did see old old women, not half but a third of my size, carrying heavy baskets of fruits on their back, and trying to sell it at 6 in the morning, but i did not see them beg. and i have to say i am very impressed. so.. getting to the good stuff: i tried to cary these baskets myself! (sorry had 2 resize the pics)

and i didnt know if their “manicanns” (excuse my english) look laughing like this or did i just look so funny!

aparently there was something funny bcoz people were just stopping me in the street to have pics! even if its in my own camera

maybe it was my new braids! or maybe i was friendly and welcoming

and tried to be a bit helpful

and for everyone’s seak, we’ll just skip new year’s eve, heheheheh

now this is where the man who devoted his life to fight america used to live, he is honored as their hero, even when he could have had a fancy place he stayed here (which is a lovely place by the way)

this is a famous temple

a monk’s memorial

and a HUGE drum! yay!

and they told me touching this dragon brings good luck, so i kissed it, BIG TIME! LOL!

and those are the lovely souvenirs!

luckily i didnt see real people dressed in what seemed to me as the inverted edition of the two-peice swim suit!

to all mushroom lovers: HUGE MUSHROOMS! they r on the market and they cook them with various kinds of food

what i loved about vietnam also is that its very original, it has its own atmosphere, its own spirit, its own style

and this is the local taxi, if u and ur friend are not so big u can fit infront, while the man will ride the bike in the back. my friend was a bit uncomfortable with the idea and was apologizing to the driver all the time..

ok, another important thing about vietnam is the food, but i posted alot of pics already, and i have ALOT more i’m even puzzled myself, so maybe i will leave the part about the food to some other time. all in all, i will suerly go back there but next time for at least 2 weeks… i look back to this vacation and smile happily at every memory and every detail, i love vietnam… :-)

skuls coins lights, signs, sit and explore…

the RED “EYE” BULL

and i just loved this part! its hidden in the back!

now this is so cool! here it seems lots of those who come leave their bussiness cards, some are pretty old u can hardly read ‘em!

and Lammoush is in!

ok now to the good stuff! the signs! since the place is in the middle of the street:

AND NOW! NEW! THE VERY IMPORTANT HAPPU ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL THE LADIES OUT THERE! FINALLY! HURRAAAAAAAAAAY! WOHOOOOOOO!
