SEXY TALATEH

23 01 2007

I was playing cards with a group of friends. Among the Arabic ones I was the only one from Jordan, and you know you say numbers when you play cards. When I said 3 (talateh) most of them started laughing and doing funny things, I was like what what why? So it turned out one of them thinks the way Jordanians say (talateh) and not (tlateh) is sexy! I was laughing and was like: loool it’s just a number it’s not sexy you’re just crazy!

So we had a few jokes and continued playing, later another friend came in. the first one asked him: hey listen, Lammoush was saying I’m crazy coz I was telling everyone that it’s sexy how Jordanians say (talateh)!

We all expected the new guy to say: man you ARE crazy… But surprisingly he replied: AAAAAAAAH INTA KAMAN??!!

L: who is responsible for this?

A: this what?

L: this! it’s either i am blind or u r!

A: no no we’re not blind! and neither are u!
L: feel it! is this perfect?

A: ok well its not perfec! but everthing else is!

L: so i can’t call the whole thing is ”perfect”

A: well no but…

L: hey.. did i say (but) when we discussed the price? NO BUTS! who’s fault is this? the designer or the conractor?

A: neither! the designer is “perfect” and the contractor is “perfect:

L: yeah, because they r the same guy remember? the one and only “perfect”

A: well HE IS PERFECT! DON’T U EVEN DARE QUESTION THAT!

L: u got eyes? u got hands? u got brains? see, feel and think: this work is not perfect… it DOES have faults, pretty good ones, a work with faults is not perfect

A: yeah but if u look at it from this side its pretty good…

L: yeah.. and if u look at one dollar, not bad ha? its not a million, but still it’s money! look dude, i prefer to see what i see, not see what u imagine…

A: wait i can explain..

L: u’ve been explaining all ur life

A: no but…

L: no “buts” remember? is this ur fault-less design-build deal? yes or no?

A: hmmmmm

L: no answer is my answer… enough for me… !

A: there’s more to it

L: do i look like i care?

A: but there’s more!

L: yeah.. more fairy tails, tell them to those who wish to sleep! i’ve had more than my share of coffee.. not for today but for life!

(ps. this has nothing to do with construction)

THE BEST NEW YEAR’S EVER / PART 2: VIETNAM

18 01 2007

first of all i have 2 say i respect vietnamese people, they are very kind and friendly, and not only have they faught hard for their country, but they are hard working, which i have to mention in comparison to what i read by Nimer this morning, i did not see not even one vietnamese begger, i did see old old women, not half but a third of my size, carrying heavy baskets of fruits on their back, and trying to sell it at 6 in the morning, but i did not see them beg. and i have to say i am very impressed. so.. getting to the good stuff: i tried to cary these baskets myself! (sorry had 2 resize the pics)

and i didnt know if their “manicanns” (excuse my english) look laughing like this or did i just look so funny!

aparently there was something funny bcoz people were just stopping me in the street to have pics! even if its in my own camera

maybe it was my new braids! or maybe i was friendly and welcoming

and tried to be a bit helpful

and for everyone’s seak, we’ll just skip new year’s eve, heheheheh

now this is where the man who devoted his life to fight america used to live, he is honored as their hero, even when he could have had a fancy place he stayed here (which is a lovely place by the way)

this is a famous temple

a monk’s memorial

and a HUGE drum! yay!

and they told me touching this dragon brings good luck, so i kissed it, BIG TIME! LOL!

and those are the lovely souvenirs!

luckily i didnt see real people dressed in what seemed to me as the inverted edition of the two-peice swim suit!

to all mushroom lovers: HUGE MUSHROOMS! they r on the market and they cook them with various kinds of food

what i loved about vietnam also is that its very original, it has its own atmosphere, its own spirit, its own style

and this is the local taxi, if u and ur friend are not so big u can fit infront, while the man will ride the bike in the back. my friend was a bit uncomfortable with the idea and was apologizing to the driver all the time..

ok, another important thing about vietnam is the food, but i posted alot of pics already, and i have ALOT more i’m even puzzled myself, so maybe i will leave the part about the food to some other time. all in all, i will suerly go back there but next time for at least 2 weeks… i look back to this vacation and smile happily at every memory and every detail, i love vietnam… :-)
